When it comes to promoting your brand, you have to do more than rant and rave about all the features your product or service provides. That’s just not a winning formula.

Instead, you have to emphasize the benefits you provide for consumers. Not only this, but your videos have to be engaging – especially if they are longer than 30 seconds.

In this post, we’ll show 5 examples of great product videos, all of which highlight the benefits of their brand in a unique way, and then explain what makes them so good. Let’s get started!

Visit California

Visit California’s new TV spot, which can be found on their California Now blog along with additional videos about California, is a great way to start off the list. Local celebrities, as well as residents, make up the people, but the video aims to highlight all the fun activities and events that you can participate in while in California.

You might not think that a state like California would have to differentiate itself from other vacations destinations, but these days, people are looking for more than just nice weather. They are definitely tapping into a younger, more outdoorsy and adventure seeking crowd in their latest video. Visit California still shows that Cali is a place to sit back and relax, but after spending a day lounging around at the beach, there is still so much more to see and do there.

GoPro

GoPro’s product video introducing their new HERO7 Black GoPro is a fantastic example of a product video emulating what the brand stands for – pure, unadulterated fun.

By showing exactly how they improved their new GoPro, while simultaneously pointing out all the new additions and features they made, this video is a perfect example of how to create a product video. It also helps when you can actually film your video with your product.

So while it does rely on talking a lot about the features, it clearly illustrates the benefits these features provide.

Tesla

And the award for most adorable product video goes to Tesla! They easily could have just shown how their new “Dog Mode” feature works on their car by having a spokesperson talk about it briefly. Instead, this no dialogue video with actual dogs in it (and what good dogs they are) is a great way to demonstrate how it works.

The fun music in the background shows how relaxed and comfortable the situation is for the dogs, which is quite the contrast to how we usually view this scenario – if you’ve ever walked by a car on a hot day with a panting dog in it, then you know what I mean. All-in-all, a nice, short product video that shows the benefit of the feature.

Patagonia

When you have a large range of products, particularly ones that have variations, then it is important to make sure that you clearly distinguish each product from the other. In Patagonia’s case, they essentially have videos detailing their products for just about every product.

Their helpful videos, like the one above, goes into the specs of each backpack, jacket, etc, so that their consumers can find the best fit for them without ever seeing the product in person. It’s a great way to tailor to the online shopping crowd, as well as give your website an SEO-boost.

Nike

Featuring NBA star Paul George and everyone’s favorite dog-loving astronaut, Leland Melvin, this product video from Nike is a slam dunk (That’s probably one of the least subtle puns you’ll ever see). By actually going to the Kennedy Space Center, Nike gives the viewers an inside scoop into how they created the PG 3 shoe. What first may have seemed like an unexpected pairing (Nike Basketball and Nasa), turns out to be a match made in heaven after watching the video. With American approval ratings of space exploration continuing to remain high, this was a smart all-around play by Nike.
